In Chris Kyle's book the main character is himself and the plot is his life story and so we are going to break this up into two pieces the character and plot and the important themes and symbols. So lets get started with the main character and the plot which in this case is Chris Kyle and his life story. His story starts off with his childhood and his relationship with his brother. And how close they were in his everyday life and at school. But after he goes through his school life he starts to talk about his college years. And the jobs that he had that included working on a ranch. He also went through some of the pass times he liked to do like competing in rodeos and other outdoor activities. Then the story goes to how he went to college and how he went to go see a recruiter and how he was indecisive about what branch of the military he wanted to go into. But eventually he was guaranteed a spot as a seal in the navy so he decided that he was going to go through the navy because he really wanted to be in spec ops. So eventually he gets to go though BUD/S which is the beginning training of becoming a seal. Then he goes into great detail of the training of becoming a seal. Along with telling may stories about the training he tells of people that he met at the training. Once he was done with his training he met his wife and he was trained to be a heavy gunner with an M-60. But later after he describes a small firefight they got into he explains how he wanted to become a sniper. Then he briefly describes how he became a seal sniper and some of the training. Then the story continues to talk about his time in the middle east and Fallujah. But now lets talk about the actual theme of the novel or The symbol or message which in my opinion is very important because this is the message that the writer is trying to get the readers to see and react to. The message of Chris Kyle's writing is to show that war is tough and that it isn't easy for anyone not even a seal. But like everything in life you eventually get used to the life you live and that is what happened to Chris. So when he came home he felt out of his element for a while and then he would get into the swing of things. But to get back on track even for a well trained seal the first kill is hard and you have to respect our military men and women because they have sacrificed much more than their lives so that you may live, they give their humanity, their conscience, and most of all they will live with the guilt for the rest of their lives.
